إِن لِلَيل بَقايا عَنبَر

إِن لِلَيل بَقايا عَنبَر

في قَميص الصُبح مِنهُ أَثرُ

في قَميص الصُبح مِنهُ أَثرُ

Indeed, God has stores of ambergris;

Indeed, night has remnants of ambergris;

in dawn’s garment there is a trace of it.

In dawn’s shirt, a trace of it remains.

بادَرت أَيدي الصِبا تلمسهُ

بادَرت أَيدي الصِبا تلمسهُ

فَبَدا عِندَ الرِياض الخَبَر

فَبَدا عِندَ الرِياض الخَبَر

The hands of the east wind hastened to touch it,

The hands of youth hastened to touch it,

and among the gardens, the tidings appeared.

And so the news appeared among the gardens.
