كَيفَ يَخفى وَفي القُلوب سَماؤُهْ
A moon whose radiance puts the suns to shame.
A moon that shames the suns, his brilliance
How can he be hidden when his sky is within hearts?
How can it be hidden when in hearts is its heaven?
مَنwhoever يَرىsees وَجهَهُhis face وَداجيand the darkness of صَدغيtwo temples
مَن يَرى وَجهَهُ وَداجي صَدغي
هِhis سَعيدhappy صَباحُهُhis morning وَمَساؤُهand his evening
هِ سَعيد صَباحُهُ وَمَساؤُه
Whoever sees his face and the darkness of his temples—
Who sees his face and my cheeks' glow
happy are his morning and his evening.
Happy is his morn and eve too

Indeed, his cruelty is sweeter than life
If the sweetest of life you reap
to my heart, as is his having no need of me.
He is for my heart and eye self-sufficiency
