وَكانَ مِن خَلف قاف لَم يَفت غَرَضي

وَكانَ مِن خَلف قاف لَم يَفت غَرَضي

If fortune nocked an arrow from its quiver,

If fate had guided an arrow from her quiver

And were it beyond Mount Qaf, it would not miss my mark.

And if behind the rhyme of "Qaf" my aim was met
