أَتى دونَها مِن بَطنِ عَكوَةَ ميثَبُ
Then she spoke, lamenting the remoteness of her home, after
She complained of the home's distance after
Mithab, in the valley of ʿAkwah, had come between her and home.
One from the valley of 'Akawa came hopping,

وَمِن دونِها بِركُ الغِمادِ فَعُليَبُ
And a glance she cast had stirred her longing,
And a glance she threw wearied her,
While Birk al-Ghimād, then ʿUlyab, lay between her and home.
While beyond her the cooking-pot boiled over.
