إِلى البِركِ إِلا نَومَةَ المُتَهَجِّدِ
So my she-camel covered the distance from Mecca
My she-camel has made the journey from Mecca
to al-Birk in no more than a night worshipper's sleep.
To Al-Barak nothing but a vigil of wakefulness

بِدومَةَ مِن لَغطِ القَطا المُتَبَدِّدِ
And just before dawn she nearly cast off her saddle
And near dawn she almost flung off her saddle
at Dumah, from the clamor of the scattered sandgrouse.
At Duma from the howling of scattered dogs
