هُوَ البَحرُ ذو التَيّارِ لا يَتَغَضغَضُ

I shall seek al-Walid in al-Sham, for indeed he

I will seek in Syria the beloved, for he

Is the sea with its surging current, never diminishing.

Is the sea with currents that never recede
