عَفَت عَرَفاتٌ فالمَصايفُ مِن هِندِ

عَفَت عَرَفاتٌ فالمَصايفُ مِن هِندِ

فَأَوحَشَ ما بَينَ الجَريبَينِ فالنَهدِ

فَأَوحَشَ ما بَينَ الجَريبَينِ فالنَهدِ

Hind’s haunts at Arafat and al-Masayif have faded away;

Arafat grew modest, so the summer resorts seem alien to me

So the land between al-Jaribayn and al-Nahd has grown desolate.

The expanse between the two cisterns so desolate and lonely

وَغَيَّرَها طولُ التَقادُمِ والبِلى

وَغَيَّرَها طولُ التَقادُمِ والبِلى

فَلَيسَت كَما كانَت تَكونُ عَلى العَهدِ

فَلَيسَت كَما كانَت تَكونُ عَلى العَهدِ

And the long passage of time and decay have changed them;

Time and wear have changed it

So they are no longer as they used to be in former days.

It is no longer what it used to be
