وَإِنَّand indeed بِقَومٍamong a people سَوَّدوكَthey made you their chief لَحاجَةًsurely a need
وَإِنَّ بِقَومٍ سَوَّدوكَ لَحاجَةً
إِلىfor سَيِّدٍa chief لَوif only يَظفَرونَthey succeed بِسَيِّدِin obtaining a chief
إِلى سَيِّدٍ لَو يَظفَرونَ بِسَيِّدِ
And indeed, a people who made you their chief are in need
Though some besmirch your name through need
Of a chief—if only they could find a chief.
For a master—should they gain one, they would take heed
