وَفيand among الجيرَةِthe neighbors الغادِينَsetting out in the morning مِنfrom بَطنِthe valley of وَجرَةٍWajrah
وَفي الجيرَةِ الغادِينَ مِن بَطنِ وَجرَةٍ
غَزالٌa gazelle أَحَمُّdark المُقلَتَينِthe two eyes رَبيبُtenderly reared
غَزالٌ أَحَمُّ المُقلَتَينِ رَبيبُ
And among the neighbors setting out in the morning from the valley of Wajrah
In the neighborhood dwells a gazelle, tender of glance,
is a gazelle, dark-eyed and tenderly reared.
So think not the stranger who is far, estranged,
فَلاso do not تَحسَبيyou think أَنَّthat الغَريبَthe stranger الَّذيwho نأَىhas gone far away
فَلا تَحسَبي أَنَّ الغَريبَ الَّذي نأَى
وَلَكِنَّand yet مَنthe one whom تَنأَينَyou draw away عَنهُfrom him غَريبُa stranger
وَلَكِنَّ مَن تَنأَينَ عَنهُ غَريبُ
So do not think that the stranger is the one who has gone far away;
But rather the one from whom you are estranged, though near, a stranger.
but the one you draw away from is a stranger.
