أَيُّهَذا المُخبِّري عَن يَزيدٍ

أَيُّهَذا المُخبِّري عَن يَزيدٍ

بِصَلاحٍ فِداكَ أَهلي وَمالي

بِصَلاحٍ فِداكَ أَهلي وَمالي

O you who tell me of Yazid,

O you who tell of Yazid's goodness,

that he is well—may my family and wealth be your ransom!

may my family and wealth be sacrificed for you.

ما أُبالي إِذا يَزيدٌ بَقِي لي

ما أُبالي إِذا يَزيدٌ بَقِي لي

مَن تَوَلَّت بِهِ صُروفُ اللَيالي

مَن تَوَلَّت بِهِ صُروفُ اللَيالي

So long as Yazid remains with me, I care not

I care not if Yazid remains for me,

whom the vicissitudes of the nights have carried away.

for whoever nights' turns take.
