ألَاAh! لِلَّهِto God (expressing admiration) لَيْلَتُناour night بِحُزْوَىat Ḥuzwā
يَخُوضُwades through فُروعَهاits branches شَمْطُgrayness الصَّباحِdawn
Ah, what a night was ours at Ḥuzwā!
Dawn's grayness wades through its branches,
لَدىbeside غَنّاءَa lush garden أَزْهَرَhave blossomed جانِباهَاits two sides
يُرَنِّحُناsets us swaying بِهاin it نَزَقُunruliness المِراحِmirth
Beside a lush garden whose two sides have blossomed,
Where the wildness of mirth sets us swaying.
فَلاso may it not زالَتْcease to be قَرارَةَa collecting basin كلِّevery مُزْنٍraincloud
أَغَرَّbright white يَشُلُّهُdrives it onward زَجَلُthe roar الرِّياحِof the winds
So may it ever be a basin for every raincloud,
Bright white, driven onward by the winds' roar.
