I have grown accustomed to ease in an age whose people
are urged toward what glory does not approve.
وَلَوْand if وَجَدfound ابْنُthe son الغابِof the forest فيin الأرْضِthe earth مَمْرَحاًa place to roam

And had the forest’s son found on earth a place to roam,
he would have struck camp and escaped the lot of humiliation.

Who, then, will grant me a day when they drink their fill of blood—
brown Rudaynian spears and white Indian swords?
