وَحاكيَةٍand a woman resembling للرِّيمِthe white gazelle جيداًin neck وَمُقلَةًand in eye
لَهاshe has نظراتٌglances لاnot يُناديcalls out وليدُهاtheir infant
And a woman resembling the white gazelle in neck and eye,
With a narration well-suited for poetry and captivating,
She has glances whose infant does not cry out.
It has glances no youngster of hers calls out to,
فَتُتلِفُso she destroys بالأولىwith the first إِذاwhen ابتدأَتshe begins بِهاwith it
نفوساًsouls وبالأُخرىand with the other إليناto us تعيدهاshe restores them
With the first, when she begins with it, she destroys
So it destroys souls with the first, if she begins with it,
Souls; and with the other, she restores them to us.
And with the other returns them to us.
تُميتُshe kills وَتحييand revives مَنwhomever تَشاءُshe wills بِنظرةٍwith a glance
فماذاwhat then تُرىdo you think لوif عاونَaided العينَthe eye جِيدهاher neck
She kills and revives whomever she wills with a glance—
It kills and revives whoever it wishes with a glance -
What then, do you think, if her neck aided her eye?
What then do you think if her hands assisted her eyes?
