Your generosity is beyond counting,
and your abundant favors know no bounds.

You have honored your nature and disposition,
so you have left us no gap to fill.
Leaving no flaws for us to mend.

No shame to one who extends their palm,
toward a hand whose bounty is an everlasting tide.
To the palm of your endless generosity.

Your bounty comes twofold, and your glory stands alone;
Your bestowal is a twin, and glory sublime,
and your hand is open, and your wealth abundant.
Your palm flourishing, your hair curled.

You have no restraint in your charity,
that would thwart the aim of one who hopes in you.
Disappointing no one who hopes in you.

To you belongs the strongest pillar, when
the reversals of time—and yours the soundest judgment.
The turns of fate and opinion grow long.

You are the cloak of the Abbasids,
and an unyielding adversary in defense of their realm.
And a challenger to any ruler but them.

While their harvested arms lie scattered.

At dawn you startle them stripped bare.

I swear by the life of Al-Adil in us,
is rain that gives life to lowland and upland.
The East and West will live by his glory.

My band, light of step, their riding beasts
have a brisk pace and a swift trot toward his gates.
Rushing to his gates, necks outstretched.

He quenches the petitioner's burning thirst with generosity,
He quenches, with his wellbeing's yield,
whose coolness forever rests upon the heart.
Their thirst forever, their hearts cooled.

A threat from him is always deferred,
His threats he ever defers,
and a promise from him is hastened to fulfillment.
While his promises he hastens to fulfill.

Thus the star of an aggressor who feigns friendship with him is ill-fated,
So, he is a rising star whom good fortune exalts,
and the star of a seeker of bounty who hopes in him is fortunate.
And a warrior star whom success aids.

A rain whose downpour is pure, a lion,
roaring, tawny-red, within the folds of mail.
Bold in the abundance of his coat.

A powerful steed bears him swiftly into battle,

swimming in its gait, with no saddlecloth ever remaining new.
To breasts never still from panting.

When they ride, they are mounts and lions.

If generosity is ever described or defined,
If the dew described him one day, it would say,
then yours is abundant giving that knows no bounds.
“For you is bounty as free as description.”

You remain generous as the sky pours down,
and thunder laughs aloud at the clouds' weeping.
And lightning thunders from the weeping clouds.
