ما لفتى الصاحب لا الصاحب
يشقصهdiminishes him (sense uncertain) وتظهرand appear العجائبُthe wonders
يشقصه وتظهر العجائبُ
What is the matter with the Sahib’s young man? May the Sahib not
The friend betrays his friend,
diminish him; wonders appear
Revealing wonders strange.
بلحيةٍin a beard يضرطfarts منهاfrom it الشاربthe moustache
بلحيةٍ يضرط منها الشارب
ونكهةِand breath بنتنِهاwith its stench يعاقِبُhe punishes
ونكهةِ بنتنِها يعاقِبُ
in a beard from which the moustache farts,
With beard from which the drinker sips
and in breath whose stench he uses to punish.
And stench for which he pays.
