العلم للرحمن جل جلاله

وسواه في جهلاته يتغمغم

وسواه في جهلاته يتغمغم

Knowledge belongs to the Most Merciful—exalted is His majesty.

Knowledge belongs to the Merciful, exalted be His majesty,

And all besides Him mumble amid their ignorance.

While all others lost in ignorance mutter and mumble.

ما للتراب وللعلوم وإنما

ما للتراب وللعلوم وإنما

يسعى ليعلم أنه لا يعلم

يسعى ليعلم أنه لا يعلم

What has dust to do with the sciences? It only

What is dust to knowledge, though people may try,

strives to know that it does not know.

Seeking to know that which cannot be fully known.
