مَنwhoever لَمhas not يَرُقهُdelighted him حُلَىadornments رِياشِيmy finery
مَن لَم يَرُقهُ حُلَى رِياشِي
وَلَمand has not يَرُعهُfrightened him شَباsharpness ذُبابِيmy sword’s point
وَلَم يَرُعهُ شَبا ذُبابِي
Whoever has not been charmed by the adornments of my finery,
He who is not drawn to the sweets of my scent
and has not been frightened by my sword’s keen point,
And is not startled by the buzz of my youth
فَلَمthen has not يَفُزwon لَحظُهُhis gaze بِحُسنٍwith beauty
فَلَم يَفُز لَحظُهُ بِحُسنٍ
وَلَمand has not يَخَفfeared سَطوَةَthe might of العِقابِpunishment
وَلَم يَخَف سَطوَةَ العِقابِ
then his gaze has found no beauty,
Has not won beauty in his gaze
nor has he feared the might of punishment.
And did not fear the might of punishment
