بغزالwith a gazelle كأنهas though he were مخمورintoxicated
بغزال كأنه مخمور
Many a day I dispelled my hangover
My Lord, the day you cut my veil
With a gazelle who seemed intoxicated;
With a gazelle as if intoxicated

ومصاد سرحت فيه ونصر
بازيازيmy falconer (probable reading of an unclear spelling) مظفرvictorious منصورtriumphant
بازيازي مظفر منصور
And many a hunting ground I roamed, while Nasr—
And spears I unleashed and victory
My falconer, apparently—was victorious and triumphant,
With my victorious, triumphant knights

وعصف كأنهن صقور
With falcons like stars when they plunge downward,
With falcons like stars when they swoop down
And swift she-camels, perhaps, as though they were falcons.
And a gale as if they were falcons
