فيه إن تبدو نهوده
And so closely does he resemble maidens
that his breasts almost show.
ناطواthey hung بمعقدat the fastening of خصرهhis waist
ناطوا بمعقد خصره
سيفاa sword ومنطقةand a belt تؤوذهweighs him down (apparently تؤوده)
سيفا ومنطقة تؤوذه
They hung about his waist
a sword and a belt that weighs him down.
جعلوهthey made him قائدcommander of عسكرan army
جعلوه قائد عسكر
ضاعis lost الرعيلthe troop ومنand whoever يقودهleads it
ضاع الرعيل ومن يقوده
They made him commander of an army—
the troop is lost, and so is the one who leads it.
