  1. تطوي بأوتارها الهموم كما

    يطوى دجى الليل بالمصابيح

    With her strings she folds away sorrows, as

    the darkness of night is folded away by lamps.

  2. ثم غنت فخلتها سمحت

    بروحها خلعة على روحي

    Then she sang, and I thought she had freely bestowed

    her soul as a robe of honor upon my soul.
