  1. ولو أني استزدتك فوق ما بي

    من البلوى لأعوزك المزيد

    And were I to ask you for more than I bear

    of affliction, you would have no more to give.

  2. ولو عرضت على الموتى حياة

    بعيش مثل عيشي لم يريدوا

    And were life offered to the dead,

    with an existence like mine, they would not want it.
