    O my lord, O Hamad,

This day of yours is most fortunate.

O son of Ali, your merit

And your goodness are not denied.

    Then upon Abd al-Aziz

    May mercy be renewed.

A poor man has called upon you, and indeed

    The envious have wronged him.

They dug a well for him,

And dug deep, going far down.

    And cast him, unaware,

Into bewilderment and brought him misery.

They paid no heed to God, who

    Bears witness over His servants.

Nor did they pity a community

    Whose prophet is Muhammad.

    هِم بَاطِلٌ مُستَبعَدُ

    As though death, for

    Them, were unreal and unlikely;

Or the resurrection of creation were something

    With no foundation.

    But upon you, my lord,

I rely to hold them in check.

For yours is a house of noble men,

    Peerless in lofty attainments.

And mention of you among humankind

    Is the finest thing repeated.

    Your deeds are good,

And your honor is beyond reproach.

    So show me a kindness

Through which I may rise and be happy.

And entreat your father, the lord, the most

    God-fearing, well-born and most illustrious,

    Perhaps, in my case

And in aiding me, he will strive.

    And goodness, if sown in

A time of hardship, will be reaped.

May you always enjoy a life

    Of contentment that never ends.
