Of possessions is not worth two hundred

مِنْof أثَاثٍhousehold goods مَائِتَيْنtwo hundred
I have nothing worth
Save for a house we live in
two hundred in household goods,
With five sons and two daughters
غَيْرَexcept دَارٍa house نَحْنُwe فِيهَاin it
خَمْسُfive أبْنَاsons وابْنَتَيْنand two daughters
except a house in which we live—
Barely getting by on barley
five sons and two daughters.
For two years now
غَالِبُmost of القُوتِthe food شَعِيرٌbarley

Most of the food has been barley
Cursed be this lying world
in our household these past two years.
And again cursed two curses
لُعِنَmay be cursed الكَاذِبُthe liar دُنْيَاin this world
ثُمَّthen أخْرَىthe next world لَعْنَتَيْنtwo curses
May the liar be cursed in this world,
Be my protection from enviers
then in the next—two curses.
Far be their evil from you
كُنْbe مُجِيرِيmy protector منfrom حسودٍan envious man
فِعْلُهُhis conduct حَاشَاكَfar be it from you شَيْنa disgrace
Be my protector from an envious man,
My emir knows I have served him
whose conduct—far be it from you—is a disgrace.
And he is my light always

وَهْوَand he is نُورِيmy light كُلَّevery حِينmoment
He has denounced me to my prince,
So protect me from his harm
who is my light at every moment.
O most generous of two brothers
فَاحفَظُونِيso protect me مِنْfrom أذَاهُhis harm

So protect me from his harm,
May God protect your heights
O generous one of the two brothers.
