فَسُوقُكُمْ ذاتُ عَيث

Tell the witnesses: take solace,

for your market is rife with corruption.

لاَ تَطمَعُوا أنْ تَفوزُوا

لاَ تَطمَعُوا أنْ تَفوزُوا

مِنْ عَاشِرٍبِثُليْثِ

مِنْ عَاشِرٍبِثُليْثِ

Do not hope to gain

a little third from a tithe-collector.

إنْ الكُسُورَ تَوارَتْ

إنْ الكُسُورَ تَوارَتْ

فِي كَفّ شاهِدِ غَيْثِ

فِي كَفّ شاهِدِ غَيْثِ

Indeed, the fractions have vanished

into the palm of Ghayth’s witness.
