عمّ ما أنت فيه عن كل حاسد ماكر
تلقَyou will find أمناsafety منfrom اعتراضinterference المكائدthe plots المناكرvile
تلقَ أمنا من اعتراض المكائد المناكر
Conceal your circumstances from every scheming envier;
Stay distracted from every envious backbiter
you will be safe from being waylaid by vile plots.
Receive safety from obstructing the cunning machinations
لاdo not تثقtrust بالكذوبin the habitual liar واطلبand seek صديقاa friend
لا تثق بالكذوب واطلب صديقا
واشكرand give thanks for السعيّthe effort إنif ظفرتyou succeeded بواحدwith one شاكرgrateful
واشكر السعيّ إن ظفرت بواحد شاكر
Do not trust the habitual liar; seek a friend,
Trust not in lies and seek a true friend
and give thanks for the effort if you find a single grateful one.

يسهلis easy الخطبthe matter غيرexcept هذاthis فأنيfor I
يسهل الخطب غير هذا فأني
نلتI experienced فيin كسبwinning منsomeone who يليقis worthy الشدائدhardships الفواقرbackbreaking
نلت في كسب من يليق الشدائد الفواقر
Every other matter is easy, for I
Other affairs are easy, not this one, for I
have endured backbreaking hardships in winning someone worthy.
Have attained, in earning what befits, piercing calamities
ياO مريداًone seeking علىagainst الزمانtime معيناa helper
يا مريداً على الزمان معينا
سدّhas been shut واللّهby God عنكfrom you بابthe door المساعدthe helper الموازرsupporting
سدّ واللّه عنك باب المساعد الموازر
O you who seek a helper against time,
O disciple, aided against time
by God, the door to a supporting helper has been shut to you.
God has blocked for you the door of the assisting ally
