The art of verse ended when he completed
The art of poetry has ended with his passing
His allotted span; with his loss, it is no longer recited.
With sorrow, and his loss cannot be compensated

Pearls strung upon the throats of beauties.
Pearls strung with refined elegance

The blessed ink of time, the most pure, the most pleased
Peerless, most exalted, the most illustrious imam.
The unparalleled, the sublime, the eminent Imam

And he passed away, leaving good renown behind him;
And he passed away leaving behind him a legacy of praise
And no man is immortal in his earthly life.
For man in his life is not made immortal

He went to the All-Watchful, hoping for His approval
He sought the Sustainer hoping for His approval
And pardon for the wrongs his hand had committed.
And pardon for all his misdeeds

When he died, I said in his chronogram:
When he passed away I inscribed his epitaph
For the Merciful One’s approval, Imam Muhammad strove.
"To please the Merciful the Imam Muhammad strove"
