ياO خَليلَيَّmy two friends أَسقِيانِيَgive me a drink (you two) كاساa cup
ثُمَّthen كَأساًa cup حَتّىuntil أَخِرَّI fall down نُعاساin drowsiness
O my two friends, pour me a cup—
O my two friends, give me a cup to drink,
then another, until I collapse drowsily.
Then another cup, until I fall down drowsy.

Indeed, in the chamber above my head
Indeed, in the room above my head,

There are people who deceive others.
يَشرَبونَthey drink المُعَتَّقَthe aged wine الراحَthe wine صِرفاًunmixed
ثُمَّthen لاnot يَرفَعونَthey raise للزَورِfor the visitors راساa head

They drink aged wine, unmixed,
then never lift their heads to greet a guest.
Then they do not lift their heads for visitors.
