O frosty one who left me no respite
does the lover's day have a tomorrow after your estrangement?
Can there be a tomorrow without you?

Keep the day for yourself; leave me with sleeplessness.
Today, leave me be and let me wander

then your gentleness will no longer help me.
Then, it won’t help that you go back

You broke the pact that was a covenant
no sooner did I say, 'He granted union,' than I said, 'He turned away.'
I didn’t say “stay connected,” but I said “turn away”

Yet despite that, I cannot do without you.

from it destiny has departed, and to it returned.
Fate diverted from it and it landed
