Whiteness has been mixed with blackness,
Black and white have intermixed,
And the process perfected through repetition,
And destiny has intertwined with hesitation.
وأخرجand was drawn out الرطبthe moist matter منfrom الشدادِthe hard substances
وغاضand subsided ماwhat فيهاwithin them منof السوادِblackness
And the moist matter drawn out of the hard substances,
The juicy fruits have emerged from the unripe,
And the blackness within them subsided.
And the darkness within has faded away.
وصارتand became الأجسادthe bodies بالأهمادthrough quenching
بلاwithout نفوسsouls فهيso they are كالجمادِlike inanimate matter
And through quenching the bodies became
Bodies became like corpses in shrouds,
Without souls, so they are like inanimate matter.
Soulless, thus like inanimate matter.

Then we gathered the flower of the bodies,
Then we picked the flower of the bodies,
And it is the rust from that ash.
Which is the echo of that ash.

And the thirsty one longs for the water,
And the thirsty yearns for it seven times,
Seven times—the count was complete.
As the number was complete.

And it kept ripening through the kindling of fire,
It continued to ripen with burning
In the worn-out body, without decay.
In the withered body without decay.

The decayed remains of the lands sank into it,
The elite of the countries dove into it,
And our two ingredients came into union.
And our mixture became unified.

And the two spirits begot offspring at the birth,
The two spirits gave birth at conception
As though they had met by appointment.
As if they had set a rendezvous.
