جمعنا العلم في بيتي

نِ طوبى لذوي الفهمِ

نِ طوبى لذوي الفهمِ

We have gathered knowledge in two verses—

We gathered knowledge in my home

blessed are those endowed with understanding.

Blessed are those of understanding

تَمَشّي الجسم بالماء

تَمَشّي الجسم بالماء

وعقدُ الماء بالجسمِ

وعقدُ الماء بالجسمِ

The body's flowing by means of water,

The body walks with water

and water's congealing by means of the body;

And water binds with the body

ومن نسليهما صبغ

ومن نسليهما صبغ

بطول السحق والهدمِ

بطول السحق والهدمِ

and from their two offspring comes a tincture,

And from their progeny, dye

through prolonged grinding and breaking down.

With the length of grinding and destruction

وما تدرك ما قلت

وما تدرك ما قلت

إذا لم تك ذا فهمِ

إذا لم تك ذا فهمِ

And you will not grasp what I have said

And you won't understand what I said

if you are not endowed with understanding.
