قالوا خَسِرْتَ القلبَ منذُ عَلِقْتَهُ

قالوا خَسِرْتَ القلبَ منذُ عَلِقْتَهُ

ورَبِحْتَ فيهِ شَماتَةَ الحُسَّادِ

ورَبِحْتَ فيهِ شَماتَةَ الحُسَّادِ

They said, “You lost your heart when you fell in love with him,

They said, "You lost your heart when you gave it away,

and gained thereby the gloating of the envious.”

And gained in it the gloating of enviers."

فأجبتُهمْ لا تعذُلونِي إنَّنِي

صانعتُهمْ عن مُهْجتي بفؤادي

So I answered them, “Do not reproach me, for I
