Our spirits transmigrate through bodies,

Our souls transmigrate in bodies

at times strong, at times weak.

Now strong, now frail.

ومهما صفا من ظلام الرسوب

طار إلى الجو نورا لطيفا

طار إلى الجو نورا لطيفا

And whatever is purified of the darkness of sediment

However much the sediment's darkness clears,

flies into the air as a subtle light.

A subtle light soars heavenward.

وبالدور والكون صفو النفوس

وبالدور والكون صفو النفوس

ويلزم منها اللطيف الكثيفا

ويلزم منها اللطيف الكثيفا

And through rotation and generation comes the purity of souls,

As cycles turn, the spirits purify,

and the subtle among them clings to the dense.

Leaving the coarse for the refined.

فأحسن بي الظن إني فتحت
