1. توعَّدَنِي في حُبِّ آلِ محمَّدٍ

    وحبِّ ابنِ فضلِ اللّه قومٌ فأكثروا

    I was threatened for my love of Muhammad’s family,

    and my love of Ibn Fadl Allah, by people who heaped threats upon me.

  2. فقلتُ لهم لا تُكْثِروا ودعُوا دَمِي

    يُراقُ على حُبِّي لهم ثم يُهدَرُ

    So I told them: “Do not multiply your threats, and let my blood

    be shed for my love of them, then go unavenged.

  3. فهذا نجاحٌ حاضِرٌ لمعيشتِي

    وذاكَ نجاةٌ أرتجي يوم أُحْشَرُ

    For this is immediate success for my livelihood,

    and that is salvation I hope for on the day I am gathered for judgment.”
