سأحجُبُ عنّي أُسرتي عند عسرتي

سأحجُبُ عنّي أُسرتي عند عسرتي

وأبرز فيهم إِنْ أصبت ثراءَ

I shall keep my family away from me in my hardship,

and appear among them if I attain wealth.

ولي أُسوةٌ بالبدر يُنفق نورَه

ولي أُسوةٌ بالبدر يُنفق نورَه

فيخفَى إِلى أن يستجدَّ ضياءَ

فيخفَى إِلى أن يستجدَّ ضياءَ

And I have an example in the full moon, which spends its light,

then disappears until it gains fresh radiance.
