Sol 6.1

  1. بالعدل قام الخلق وهو ملاكهُ

    وبه استقام نظامه ومساكُه

    By balance creation stands; balance is its mainstay.

    Through it, its order and cohesion are set right.

  2. والضدّ غالب ضدّه وبقهره

    ظهر السكون وبان منه حراكُه

    One opposite overcomes its opposite, and through subduing it

    Stillness appears, and from it its motion becomes manifest.

  3. ومن التعادل ثم طبع خامس

    لا ضد فيه ولا يخاف هلاكُه

    And from equilibrium there arises a fifth nature:

    No opposite lies within it, nor is its destruction feared.

  4. فغليظه بلطيفه إصعاده

    ولطيفه بغليظه إمساكُه

    So its dense part is raised by its subtle part,

    And its subtle part is held fast by its dense part.

  5. والصبغ بالتفصيل غاص وبالندى

    والشمس أخرج لونَه سبّاكُه

    And the tincture sank through separation; and with dew

    And the sun, its smelter brought out its color.

  6. في جوفه مفتاحه ولبعضه

    إصلاحه ولبعضه إهلاكُه

    Its key lies in its belly; to one part belongs

    Its restoration, and to another its destruction.
