ترمي المرامي بي وسيفي مِخذَمُ
Why remain in humiliation, when my ambition
Why should I stay humble and subdued
hurls me toward its goals, and my sword is keen-edged?
When my soul aims high and my sword remains keen?

إني لنفسي إنْ فعلتُ لأظلمُ
Shall I be wronged in a land and sit content?
Shall I be shamed to live in my own lands
If I did, I would surely wrong myself.
Content while my rights are treated mean?

بالعزم والرأي الحصيف مُسَوَّمُ
If I am not fully armed, I am nonetheless
Unless I've lost all love for brave combat,
marked by resolve and sound judgment.
My wits and wisdom shall stay quick and keen.

My soul is undaunted, and my heart is valiant;
My soul is free, my heart is stout and bold,
and my hand is strengthened, and my resolve is firm.
My hand is mighty and my word supreme.

Tell those who succeeded and pursued a plan
Say to the proud, they shall not reach their goal,
so arduous—the stars defy capture.
However bright the stars their course may gleam,
إِلّاif not تكفّواyou cease عنfrom عِناديopposing me أجْنِهَاI shall unleash it
إِلّا تكفّوا عن عِنادي أجْنِهَا

شعواءَ ينعَرُ من جوانِبها الدَمُ
Unless you cease opposing me, I shall unleash it—
Unless they leave me to my just demands-
a raging war, blood spurting from its flanks.
Else blood shall flow and bitter wrath shall stream.
