من خمرِهِ سُكراً إِلى أجفانِهِ
And one with cropped temple-locks, whose saliva bestows
With cheeks ablaze, from his wine he sends
intoxication from its wine upon his eyelids.
Intoxicating dew to his eyelids, red.

حَسداً فعذَّبَهُ بقطعِ لسانهِ
The chains of his temple-lock informed on his cheek-down
The fetters on his cheeks grew jealous of his love
out of envy; so he tormented it by cutting off its tongue.
So they tormented him by cutting out his tongue.
