    Yellow rosebushes have awakened

    rapture in every lovestruck heart.

They carved cradles of chrysolite that held

dolls of gold within their hollows.

And when the east wind opened their bud-sheaths

before dawn, and the branch swayed and stood upright,

I likened them to a maiden who cast

a flame amid the green of her garments.

The cloud's hand poured silver for them,

so they clothed it in a lovely, wondrous hue.

Who before this has ever seen trees

that, watered with silver, bore gold?
