Some bodies are simple, others compound.

And some water is compound, some simple.

And water and compounding—what lies within it

is a bloom gathered from the noble dye.

And the compound body has no dye

of its own; and within it are a center and a circumference.

The compound first grew weary; then came a doubling of the

compounding, until it became vigorous again.

So mix your raw substance with the compound.

Indeed, the remedy is processed and raw.

And cook to draw our oil from its earth.

So in your dish are olives, then oil.

And be gentle with your oil; its dye will spread for you

within it, for the secret of its treatment is simplification.
