I congratulate our lord on a most auspicious arrival,

which has emulated his radiant deeds in beneficence:

a day on which Time renewed its raiment

and brought forth the treasure from its hidden finery.

On it the sun has entered the house of its splendor,

like our lord's appearance as he fills the place of honor.

And Time's balance was set right, as though

it had learned from him a justice that had mastered Time.

And through it the cloud's heart softened toward the earth,

like his compassion when he drives away misery and poverty.

And it clothed the earth in embroidered robes, richly adorned,

just as he clothes me in his favors, one after another.

And I offer him a token of my service, for which

his eminence grants an excuse under his protection.

So it is no wonder that I have offered, from his overflowing bounty,

to him a little that he does not deem paltry.

For I have seen the cloud carry its water

from the sea in abundance, then offer it drops.

So may you remain thus for the kingdom, open-handed,

with smiling lips and a joyful breast.

And may you never cease casting off your worn garments

and donning fresh, radiant pieces of its finery.
