بمعنبرٍin an ambergris-scented robe منof حلتَيْهِits two robes ومُجْسَدِand a saffron-dyed robe
And you see the Pleiades, with the crescent robed in layers,
You see the Pleiades and the crescent appearing
In its two robes—one ambergris-scented, one saffron-dyed—
In a robe of two garments and an embodied form
كالدُّرِّlike pearls فُصِّلَset فيin وِشاحِthe sash of خَريدةٍa maiden
حسناءَbeautiful تجلىis unveiled منfrom لثامٍa face veil أسْوَدِblack
Like pearls set in a maiden's sash,
Like a pearl set in the scarf of a lovely purchaser
A beauty unveiled from behind a black veil.
A beauty revealed from a black veil
وكأنهُand as though he were وكأنهاand as though she were فيat جَنْبِهhis side
عنقودةٌa grape cluster فيin زورقٍa skiff منof عَسْجَدِgold
And he, with her beside him, looks like
As though it and as though she at its side
A grape cluster in a skiff of gold.
Were a cluster in a boat of aloes wood
