After her tribe had moved on, she returned
Then turned back when she saw my sword as my bedfellow.
When she saw my sword lying nearby

And her visit stirred in me a deep sigh
And roared at me with the roar of a lioness
That almost straightens the curve of the ribs.
That almost straightened my bent ribs

So she spent the night between the mounts' necks,
She spent the night among the necks of the riding camels
Wavering between coming and returning.
Going back and forth, coming and returning

Flickering like a frightened heart.
Throbbing like a frightened heart

Whose saliva seems like melted frost.
As if its pleasantness was melting ice

I pleaded with him for my sleep, but in vain;
I appealed to it in my dream, so it wearied,
Then a dream brought him without an intercessor.
And the dream brought it without an intercessor
