لاdo not تَملأَنَّfill قَدحيmy cup وارفِقand be gentle فَقَدfor already مُزِجَتhave been mixed

ليfor me مِنfrom جُفونِكَyour eyelids أَقداحcups وَأَقداحُand cups
لي مِن جُفونِكَ أَقداح وَأَقداحُ
Do not fill my cup; be gentle, for already mixed

لِلجِنِّof the jinn وَالإِنسِand humankind أَرواحٌsouls وَأَرواحُand souls
لِلجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ أَرواحٌ وَأَرواحُ
O you whose figure, when it sways, snatches away
O you who when bending your waist captures
Soul after soul from jinn and humankind.
The spirits of jinn and men, spirits and spirits.
زِدنيgive me more ابتِساماًsmiles وَقُلand say لليلto the night دَمlast أَبَداًforever
