تَيَمَّمتُI performed dry ablution بِالكِديَونِwith oil dregs كَيso that لاnot يَفوتَنيit might elude me
تَيَمَّمتُ بِالكِديَونِ كَي لا يَفوتَني
مِنَfrom المَقلَةِthe eye البَيضاءِwhite تَقريظُthe praise of باعِقِa loud crier
مِنَ المَقلَةِ البَيضاءِ تَقريظُ باعِقِ
I performed dry ablution with oil dregs, lest I miss
I have made peace with poverty lest I miss
a white-eyed crier’s praise.
