وَرَأَيتُand I saw الشَريفَthe noble man فيin أَعيُنِthe eyes of الناthe peo- (word fragment)
وَرَأَيتُ الشَريفَ في أَعيُنِ النا
سِ-ple (completing 'people') وَضيعاًlowly وَقَلَّand diminished مِنهُfor him اِحتِشاميmy reverence
سِ وَضيعاً وَقَلَّ مِنهُ اِحتِشامي
And I saw the man held noble in people's eyes
I saw the noble man despised in people's eyes
as lowly, and my reverence for him waned.
And he lost his dignity in their esteem
