أو حرمِ ِ الفن ِ

From the genius of the rabab,

With the genius of the rebeck

Or the sanctuary of art.

Or the harem of art

سح فى الرُبى والوهاد

واسترقص البيدا

واسترقص البيدا

Pour forth among the hills and valleys,

Wander in the meadows and valleys

And make the desert dance,

And examine the desert

وأسكب على كل نـاد

وأسكب على كل نـاد

ما يسحر الغيدا

ما يسحر الغيدا

And pour upon every gathering

And pour upon every valley

What enchants the graceful maidens.

What enchants the heart

وفـجر الاعـواد

رجعـاً وترديدا

And make the lutes burst forth

And the dawn of desires

In echoes and refrains,

حتى ترى فى البلاد

من فرحةٍ عيدا

Until you see throughout the land

Until you see in the country

A festival born of joy.

A feast day of joy

وامسح على زرياب

وامسح على زرياب

واطمس على معبد

واطمس على معبد

And sweep over Ziryab,

And wipe over the rug

And blot out Ma'bad,

And erase the temple

وأمش ِ على الاحقاب

وأمش ِ على الاحقاب

وطُف على المربد

وطُف على المربد

And walk across the ages,

And tread upon the hills

And circle al-Mirbad,

And walk around the shrine

وأغشى كنار الغاب

وأغشى كنار الغاب

فى هدأة المرقد

And visit the forest's canary

And cover the fire of the forest

In the stillness of its roost,

In the stillness of the tomb

وحدث الأعراب

وحدث الأعراب

عن روعة المشهد

And tell the Bedouins

Of the splendor of the scene.
