نَثَرَتْ عليكَ سعودَها الأفلاكُ

نَثَرَتْ عليكَ سعودَها الأفلاكُ

وعَنَتْ لعزَّةِ وجهكَ الأملاكُ

وعَنَتْ لعزَّةِ وجهكَ الأملاكُ

The celestial spheres have scattered their good fortunes upon you.

The stars have scattered their glories upon you,

And kings have bowed before the majesty of your countenance.

And the angels have bowed down before your noble face,

زُوِّجْتَ بالدُّنيا لأنَّك كفؤُها

زُوِّجْتَ بالدُّنيا لأنَّك كفؤُها

فاسعدْ بها وليهنِكَ الإملاكُ

فاسعدْ بها وليهنِكَ الإملاكُ

You have been wed to the world, for you are her match.

You were wedded to this world because you are its match,

So rejoice in her, and may the marriage bring you joy.

So be happy with it as the angels rejoice for you,

والأرضُ دارُكَ والورى لكَ أعبدٌ

والأرضُ دارُكَ والورى لكَ أعبدٌ

والبدرُ نعلُكَ والسماءُ شِراكُ

والبدرُ نعلُكَ والسماءُ شِراكُ

And the earth is your home, and all humankind your slaves.

The earth is your abode and mankind are your servants,

And the full moon is your sandal, and the sky its strap.

The moon is your sandal and the sky your mantle.
