قدindeed أقبلَhas arrived الصيفُsummer يحكيmirrors حَرَّthe heat of أنفاسِيmy breaths
قد أقبلَ الصيفُ يحكي حَرَّ أنفاسِي
وفيand in فؤاديmy heart حَرٌّheat ماnot لهُfor it آسيa healer
وفي فؤادي حَرٌّ ما لهُ آسي
Summer has indeed arrived, mirroring the heat of my breaths.
Summer has come, telling of the heat of my breath,
And in my heart is a heat that has no healer.
And in my heart is a heat that knows no solace.
فإنso if سمعتَyou have heard ببردِof the coolness of الوصلِunion منكfrom you فقدthen indeed
فإن سمعتَ ببردِ الوصلِ منك فقد
سلَلْتَyou have drawn out نِضوَthe wasted frame of رجائيmy hope منfrom يَدَيْthe two hands of ياسيmy despair
سلَلْتَ نِضوَ رجائي من يَدَيْ ياسي
So if you have heard of the coolness of union with you, then indeed
So if I hear of the coolness of union with you,
You have drawn my hope's wasted frame from the hands of my despair.
You will have drawn forth the dew of my hope, O healer.
