May your glory never cease to be al-Simak's peer,
Your glory still ascends to the heavens
And your glory's loftiness be a guarantor of immortality.
And the loftiness of your glory is guaranteed eternity

O white forehead-blaze of the dark age, when
O gem of the brutal age, when it comes
The eminent become white markings on their age's legs.
The exalted ones glorify their time

A shade over me, made from beauty, a little shade

That were strung into a garland crowning my temples

By my father and others besides my father, a crescent whose light
Hastens glorification of God and proclamations of His oneness.
Hastens to glorify and extol

And had I been able, I would have carpeted where his steps fell
And if I could, I would have carpeted where he stepped
With the lids of an eye that knows no kohl,
With eyelids that see no kohl

And I would have scattered my soul after my hands took possession
And fallen slain [between] the hands of love for him.
And fallen at the home of his love, slain
