أظنُّ الربيعَ العامَ قد جاءَ تاجِراً

أظنُّ الربيعَ العامَ قد جاءَ تاجِراً

ففي الشمسِ بزَّازاً وفي الريحِ عَطَّارا

ففي الشمسِ بزَّازاً وفي الريحِ عَطَّارا

I think spring this year has come as a merchant:

I think this year's spring has come as a merchant

For in the sun it is a cloth merchant, and in the wind a perfumer.

In the sun a draper and in the wind a perfume seller

وما العيشُ إلاّ أن تواجِهَ وجهَهُ

وما العيشُ إلاّ أن تواجِهَ وجهَهُ

وتقضي بين الوشي والمسك أوطارا

وتقضي بين الوشي والمسك أوطارا

And life is nothing but to meet it face to face

And life is but to face it

And fulfill your desires amid brocade and musk.

And spend time between musk and ambergris
